Built by the architect Nail Cakirhan , winner of the 1983 Aga Khan Award for architecture, this beautiful house is built in the traditional Ula (Ottoman) style with a prevalence of ornately carved wood inside and out. It consists of 3 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 2 shower rooms, lounge, kitchen and dining area. One of the bedrooms is situated below the main body of the house and has its own shower room/ toilet. The house is fully furnished , and all that you need to bring are your clothes and food. A small assortment of board games and English novels are provided.
Surrounded by its own garden the house is fully fenced and gated, and you are welcome to pick and eat any of the fruit on the trees if they are in season – lemons, mandarins, olives and oranges. |
The patio has a table and chairs and a traditional family barbecue .
The Ula House is situated approximately 8 minutes walk down to the beach within close proximity of friendly cafes and restaurants.
A lovely feature of the house is its magnificent balcony that overlooks the garden and the green forests of the conservation area. Young children should be accompanied on the balcony due to its height above ground level. A safety barrier is provided.
