The geography of the region provides unlimited pleasure for outdoor sports fans;

NOVEMBER - DECEMBER
Paragliding : When the west wind stops, the season for paragliding begins. The summit of Mount Sakar , rising behind Akyaka, is 950 m high and you will find a specially designed platform from which to launch.. The views of the Gulf from this point are spectacular.
Biking : As the area around Gokova Plain and the Bay are very flat biking is an ideal sport for all the family. For the more adventurous biker there is a steep downhill course from the top of Mount Sakar to Gokova Bay . Bikes can be hired in the village.

JANUARY - MARCH
Trekking : You will find a guide book showing Akyaka and Gokova trekking routes in a file at The Ula House. Most routes follow the paths through pine forests or around the Gokova Plain.
Snowboarding : The Ski centre is 3,5 hours drive from Akyaka. The prices are reasonable and the quality of snow and runs are surprisingly good. February and March is the top season for the resort.

FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER
White water rafting: An exciting daytrip for the more adventurous. Depending on water levels at the time of your visit if you seek a real thrill then this is for you. Exhausting and exhilarating!!
Kitesurfing : Gokova is Turkey 's #1 kitesurfing location with its 3 km long shallow and sandy beach. The west wind , which is essential for kitesurfing, is 99% guaranteed and continuous on this beautiful beach.
Windsurfing : Conditions are perfect for both beginners and more experienced windsurfers in the Bay. Lessons are available at different centres in the village.
Sea Kayaking : Paddling on the creeks of Gokova Plain is a must for everyone who visits Akyaka. Even novice paddlers can join the tours starting from Sedir Island to Akyaka.
Sailing : Dinghy sailing is a perfect option for a family day. Sail in Gokova Gulf by visiting small and quiet beaches.

Tuition is available for all courses mentioned above. All prices are very reasonable. Please contact Yavuz Aksakal at info@gokovaruzgar.com for more information on any sporting activity. As all motor sports on the water are forbidden in the bay, it is very safe and fun place for wind and non motorised water sports.
